Edwin Derecho
Senior AdvisorEdwin Derecho joined EduLab Capital Partners as Chief Financial Officer in 2019. His career has encompassed the full range of corporate finance roles, starting as an auditor for Price Waterhouse and progressing to senior financial positions for multinational corporations including RCA, PepsiCo, Sunbeam and Office Depot. He served as an M&A banker for Citibank for 6 years and has been CFO of privately-held companies in the technology, sports, entertainment and consumer industries, including a venture capital-backed startup. Edwin advises ECP’s portfolio companies on Board governance issues, capital structure, value-added metrics, strategic restructuring and M&A alternatives. Edwin is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He has a B.A. in Economics and Communication from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Favorite EdTech from Childhood: Playing video games at the local (physical) arcade. Learning to recognize patterns in what became classic games was great fun, but interacting with the human characters at the local arcade turned out to be well worth the many, many quarters I spent!
